A Mortal Instruments TV Show?

Hey all!

Okay, I know I said I would post a book review (which I will) but first, I've just gotta vent a little. If you read my last post, then you know that The Mortal Instruments is one of my favorite series. I just love the characters, the relationships, and the world within our own Cassandra Clare created. You may or may not know (becasue there wasn't a lot of publicity) that there has been one Mortal Instruments film, based off the first book, City of Bones. I did see the film, and thought it was alright. The writing wasn't bad, and the casting wasn't awful, but there was just something off about it for me. But, books to movies are usually disappointing... Anyway, I just saw via Twitter (follow me!) that there is confirmation of a television show based off the Mortal Instruments! I can't decide if I should be excited ('cause yay! Maybe other people will see how great the story is) or bummed ('cause why couldn't they just leave it alone?). I'm feeling some different emotions, guys. However, I think it might be okay. As long as the script follows the actual story, or they take it in a direction that works with the characters, there is now opportunity for recasting (which wouldn't hurt) and as Cassandra blogged about herself, there is now a lot more opportunity to dive into the immense back story that is TMI. Basically, I'm just crossing my fingers that it doesn't suck.
